Alyce P. Parker
Alyce Parker is the past chair of the Rowan University Foundation Board of Directors and has been on the Board since 2002.
In 2011, she returned to Alyce Parker & Associates (1995), a full-service public relations, business development, community relations and governmental relations firm she founded in 1996. Focused on the Atlantic City and South Jersey marketplace, the firm utilizes the talents of various professionals with extensive casino marketing, public relations, event planning and internal communications experience.
From 2005–10, she was the Vice President of Public Affairs for Harrah’s Entertainment, Atlantic City, which is the largest gaming and entertainment company in the world. She directed media relations, community relations and regional governmental relations for Harrah’s, Showboat, Caesar’s and Bally’s casinos as well as the Atlantic City Country Club.
Ms. Parker began her public relations career working for hospitals, youth organizations and government prior to coming to Atlantic City where she directed public relations for the opening of the Tropicana Casino. She later spent close to 15 years working for Harrah’s Atlantic City (1983–95).
She is active with the Greater Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce, the Public Relations Council of Atlantic County, and the Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association; is a member of the Southern New Jersey Development Council and the American Conference on Diversity; and is on the board of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony and the Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation.
A southern New Jersey native, she received a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from Rowan in 1974 and later, a master’s in administration from Rider University. In 2007 she was named the recipient of the University’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. Ms. Parker served on the Rowan University Alumni Board in the 1990s.
